We're Moving!!

Hey guys,

we have some bitter sweet news. Alyssa and I feel like it is too hard to make posts because for us we have to find time to make them, and sometimes we can go weeks (as you know) without doing posts because either we lost connection, or are just plain lazy *sheepish grin*, or have been extremely busy etc. also we have tried countless time to upload videos but it wouldn't work for some reason. So, we have decided to stop posting on this blog all together, and move to Keek! If you don't know what Keek is, it is an online (also a free app!) site where you post videos and people can like and comment on them. We feel like this is an easier way to have our blog. We will also be posting way more often :) So if you have a phone, iPod touch, laptop, or computer, you can check out our Sisters in Christ Keek!

When you are on the site, just type in the box: SistersInChrist.

Love and blessings,

Dear October

Dear October,

I'm glad you're here :) Many days I tell myself I can't wait to have a fresh new start to things. We all make mistakes, and have those bad days, but it's good to have that accountability from God, and to be allow to say, "ok, in October I'm not going to ______". It's hard to do it by yourself though. I know. I've tried time and time again to make resolutions alone, and to "follow the rules" by myself, and it doesn't work unless God is involved. I challenge you to ask God what is one thing that you need help in, and then pray every time you think about it for Him to help you to stay accountable to your resolution! You don't just need to make them on January 1st, make them today!

With love, and many blessings,
Meghan

Looking back on summer and confessions :)

My days have not been perfectly "blog friendly" so you might say. I was extremely disappointed and sorry that I had said in our last post that we were going to start our blogging schedule the day after I wrote that post because our Internet shut down, and was unconscious for two whole weeks! And so, at the break of the weekend I say the same thing I said a couple weekends ago, we will start the schedule today :)
Although we were waiting for a longs time, we have been supplementing with making countless TEVs and tutorials for our tutorial page under the header!

Looking back on my summer, I can say it was quite an eventful one :) FLYING down a hill (and when i say flying i meant f.l.y.i.n.g.... ordinary bike accident with bro due to pride :z), sleepovers at cousin's house for 1 1/2 weeks, camping, homemade water slides, Canada's Wonderland, seeing my first concert, first loop-dee-loop ride (LOVED it! Went on it 7x after, and then others), lamp fires, photoshoots, swimming etc.  Here are only SOME of the photos I took during summer break :)

I invited Aly over for a "Girl's Night" which consisted of movies, popcorn with milk chocolate melted over top, an adventurous biking ride to Mo's Market, and tutorial making!  We made this for supper, and we had perfect autumn scented candles at our meal :)

Cute little 'love birds' at our church festival

At the Butterfly Conservatory! We brought home a pop up tent filled with monarch caterpillars and a milkweed plant and watched them eat, and grow, and molt, and emerge! After we tagged them and set them to Mexico!

Only when I'm with Jenah :) We dared each other to wear these all the way through Church Dance, and choir :) *check*

Tutorial coming soon!

Occasional Weekly trips to the Mo's Market to buy some treats :) I be-friended the guy who owns the place since we went there so often :)

My favourite-- mixed flavour smoothies from Mo's.

Au revoir,
Meghan

Summer Paradise

Haii everyone :) I hope you are all having a beautifully gorgeous summer! Alyssa and I sure have been enjoying the life out of it :)

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

Since our last post was uploaded June 2nd *small grin* I have made this little post just saying where we've been, and what we plan on doing with our blog.
As you might have noticed, Alyssa nor I have been posting this summer, because we felt like we should take a break and enjoy the amazing weather and nature! I'm sorry that we kinda didn't tell you guys that we were going to not post all summer, but that is because we really didn't know we were going to do it! I am extremely grateful to announce that we have gotten THREE NEW FOLLOWERS during the summer (Oh my word God bless you girls!) so here is a shout-out to Melanie Reid via The Reid Family (although she has two other blogs... sorry, i might sound like a stalker lol, i'm pretty sure this is her main one), Heather via Inspired Insights, & Julianna Danielle via The Perfect Parfait!!! Thank you guys SO much :)
Soo.. onto our new resolution.. :) Well, Alyssa and I have been talking, and we decided that each of us would be posting either a post or a tutorial every other day except Sunday (although every once in a while one of us will post on a Sunday afternoon if we have the Holy Spirit's urge to share something pronto :) And yes, I said tutorial!! We have created a tab below our header made just for fun video tutorials we would like to share with you!
So with all of that said, I guess I can go, but I will see you very soon since we are starting our new schedule tomorrow :)

Cheers to God's creation of summer,
Meghan

[pee-ess]: when i think of summer i think of... sandy beaches, colourful balloons on a cloudless deep blue sky, floral sunglasses, fruit popsicles, a soothing breath of fresh air, doing cartwheels in the thick grass, pastel and neon nail polishes, sitting cross-legged on the grass with friends while laughing and braiding flowers in each others hair, ice smoothies, vibrant colours, dancing in sunsets, having sleepovers with friends on  weekdays, shopping for cute bathing suits, lacing shorts, roasting marshmellows, doing flips in aqua, my hair turning blonder, Clementine freaking over the dozens of chirps at a great feast of feeders on our Sycamore, watering our gardens, wearing tank-tops, feeling heat on your skin, reading books among lavender and roses... comment below and share some of yours!

Q&A Guest Post with Alyssa @live.love.craft!!!

Things have overtaken my life these days. Things that probably should wait their turn, and let blogging "my story" explode off the tips of the earth. And so, I gather in my arms every tiny minute to do so. As spring strolls on, and summer begins to show it's beauty, I am able to gather more and more minutes and so a guest post flourishes.

Alyssa {live.love.craft} and I got together {not really... over e-mail} and we typed. Not just your every, I don't know what to say type, like I am now, but it flowed. So here I bring to you a Q&A with Alyssa:

Q: Why did you start your blog?
A: In the beginning I started it just because I thought having a blog was cool. After a year or so I decided that I should just make it into a craft blog, considering that I had been doing so many crafts :)

Q: Did you ever feel like nobody was reading your blog, and you should just give up blogging?
A: So, SO many times. I would go on good streaks when everyone was commenting and pageviews went wayy up, and I would go on bad streaks when I’d post a tutorial and get no response. It really gets you down sometimes but pushing through it was so worth it to me!

Q: Why do you find so much enjoyment in crafts?
A: Just being able to make nearly whatever I can imagine in my mind come to life with my hands is something that you just can’t top. :)

Q: Do you think crafts will be a big part of your future, or just a hobby?
A: Probably just a hobby, I like to jump around and do different things all the time and I don’t think I’d ever be able to make anything for long enough that I could make a business out of it.

Q: How do want your blog to impact other people?
A: I don’t know. I want it to be an uplifting place that inspires people to go be what they want to be. Sometimes you have to go against the grain. When I started craft blogging the only other craft blogs were by adult women. Nobody expected anything good to come out of a 13 year old girl’s blog. But I think I surprised them a little bit :p

Q: How does God fit into all of this?
A:
I try to do everything in my life around God. A blog is a place where you can reach millions of people all over the earth; so I love adding little bits about God in here and there. He made us to praise Him and spread the Word and I can do it little by little through my blog. The blogs that are all about God certainly have an honorable place in the Internet, but the people who follow them already know God. When I get to talk about God on my blog I’m reaching a whole new crowd. :)

Q: What is your favourite craft that you've done, or are looking forward to doing?
A:
My favorite craft I’ve done has got to be my paint chip wreath. :) The thing I’m looking forward to most right now is finishing up my room re-do :D

Q: What is your favourite thing to do besides crafting?
A: Playing volleyball. Last summer I was at the beach and everyone was playing volleyball but I’d never touched one. I was so bad it was embarrassing. I’ve never played any sports so that day I decided that I would learn one sport and be good at it. Last fall I joined our church’s 8th grade team league and after that I tried out for a club and made it. Right now I’m playing in a silver club summer league and I haven’t even been playing for a year :) My goal is to be in a gold league in a year or two!

Q: being homeschooled, does crafting take up most of your extra time?
A:
Pretty much. I’m pretty much always making something or planning something. :)

Q: Does your crafts fill the house, or are limited to your own room?
A: Haha oh boy… they fill the house! Mom got tired of me leaving my crafting supplies all over the counters so she dedicated a whole cabinet for my supplies in our kitchen :) other than that I have stuff strewn out all over the place!

Q: How old were you when you first found you were interested in crafting?
A:
I’ve always been into art and stuff which is why I think I’m a big crafter. I really just love anything artsy! So I guess since I was about 2.

Q: Any other notes you want people to know about you and/or your blog?
A: Not really, only that currently my blog is taking a small break because of my hectic life. This summer I’m going to be volunteering 5 days a week from 8-4 for six weeks and I play volleyball twice a week with conditioning early every morning! So I really have no time, unfortunately!

Thanks so much, Alyssa! That was a lot of fun :)

God's Beauty

Flowers have consumed me these days. They grasp my hand and take me in. Into their world of colours and beauty, and uniqueness. And I sit. Amidst them all, and they lavish their happiness upon me, and I declare that spring is a wonderful time. I lay in the flowers and my thoughts carry me away on the whimsy, and bokeh, and pastels. And then I wake up, and realize it's all so real.
